Camp Hatteras - NC Outer Banks Camping!

Camp Hatteras RV Resort & Campground

Rodanthe, North Carolina

We made a big jump off of our route to score a stay in the North Carolina Outer Banks. We've had it on our must-do destination list for awhile, so we couldn't pass up the chance to check it out before winter set in!

Being the off season (October,) the weather was a little hit or miss, but we still got in some great surf fishing and gorgeous views of the beach. The sunsets weren't too shabby either!

Another perk of off season camping in a popular destination is having the campground nearly to ourselves. We really loved Camp Hatteras RV Resort and would definitely recommend it to other campers. Located in the charming community of Rodanthe, you have direct beach access, direct canal access, and close proximity to so many things to do and see in the Outer Banks.

This is a destination where you could just sit on the beach everyday or explore from sun-up to sun-down everyday and have a great time. There are so many experiences waiting to be discovered here. We'd love to come back and visit again!

Bodie Island Light House

One afternoon we took a drive to the Bodie Island Light Station. We've seen several lighthouses during our travels, but this was by far our favorite. We just loved the style, size and setting of this lighthouse. Built in 1872, it stands 156 feet tall near Roanoke Sound. Fun Fact: Each stripe is 22 feet tall!
